SUSAN R. FLYNT

Development Committee Chair
Governance Committee
Spot Board Member Since 2017

ABOUT SUSAN:

Susan's life has been filled with beautiful moments, business successes, philanthropy, and adventures. She is physically active as well as hard working. Susan's passions and community efforts range from focusing on the arts, education and empowerment for women/girls worldwide (she was part of creating a girl’s school in Rwanda which is now flourishing) and the environment. Currently she is on the board of The Spot, serving as Development Chair.  She is also involved in therapeutic programs for children, veterans and adults with special needs.

After graduating with a BS in Business she moved to Newport Beach, CA to begin her career in the electronic components industry. While full-time parenting, she worked part-time in art galleries, volunteered for many non-profits, and participated as Board Chair and Vice Chair at the Sawtooth Botanical Garden for over 20 years. She chaired many gala fundraisers, created a children’s program and worked to showcase environmental biomes at the Garden. During this time, she also discovered her personal passion of building, designing and remodeling homes; having created an array of homes and gardens in our community.

Susan is originally from the mid-west. Most all of her summers/holidays were spent at a cabin in northern Wisconsin where she and her siblings were free to roam the woods and play for hours in the lakes and streams. She performed in a water ski show in Wisconsin while in high school and college. In 1986 she and her husband purchased a second home in Ketchum and moved full time in 1990; never looking back. Susan's daughter, now 29, and son, 25, were born and raised in Ketchum.

She looks forward to continuing living her life’s purpose through philanthropy and working to make our world a more healthy and beautiful world in which to live.

THE SPOT WISHES TO THANK SUSAN FOR BEING OUR ANGEL DONOR,

ALWAYS GALVANIZING THE CHARGE TO MAKE OUR WORK POSSIBLE
